Member Benefits

The Industrial Internet Consortium is organized under Object Management Group (OMG)'s 501(c) (6) not-for-profit status. It operates under OMG's existing governance, policies and procedures under the oversight of the Industrial Internet Consortium Steering Committee. These documents can be found at:

When you join the Industrial Internet Consortium, you are helping to create the future of industry. Membership entitles your company to have a voice in setting the standards, best practices and processes of the Industrial Internet.

There are Six levels of membership in the Industrial Internet Consortium

All Industrial Internet Consortium members receive the following benefits:

  • Opportunity to influence the requirements development, technology adoption, and future direction of the Industrial Internet by joining with leaders in technology, manufacturing, academia and government agencies in IIC Working Groups.
  • Be a voting member in Industrial Internet elections and for IIC deliverables.
  • Gain industry recognition through involvement in IIC Working Groups.
  • Network with other members and industry experts to create and develop critical collaborations.
  • Create and lead new testbeds or join in IIC-member testbeds.
  • Access Industrial Internet research reports, white papers, industry scenarios and other material produced by the Industrial Internet Consortium.
  • Publish technical and positioning materials through the Industrial Internet Consortium platform.
  • Secure public speaking opportunities through the Speakers Bureau, which matches qualified member speakers with conference opportunities.
  • Be listed as an author on work contributed to IIC technical and thought leadership documentation.
  • Have your company logo displayed on IIC materials and hotlink to your website.
  • Receive special discounts on third-party Internet of Things conferences, reports and subscriptions.

Founding Members

The Founding Members of the Industrial Internet Consortium provide vision, support and governance of the Consortium, which has driven its growth from 5 companies to a vibrant global community of over 200 member organizations spanning 25 countries in just 18 months.

Founding Members pay annual dues of US$150,000 and receive the following benefits:

  • A seat on the Steering Committee.
  • 32 full-meeting passes for use by anyone in their company per year (value $19,040 annually).
  • Acknowledgement as IIC Founders on the IIC website, collateral, conference presentations, analysts & media interviews and all other public and internal membership materials.
  • All of the general membership benefits listed above.

Contributing Members

Contributing Members join the Founding member companies in a leadership position governing the Industrial Internet Consortium. There is one Contributing Member Steering Committee seat for each 100 members of the Industrial Internet Consortium, up to a total of four seats. There are currently two Contributing Members, SAP and Schneider Electric.

New and re-elected Contributing Members are elected by the other members in the Contributing Member category along with the five Founders of the Industrial Internet Consortium during the annual election cycle.

Industrial Internet Consortium Contributing Members pay annual dues of US$150 000 and receive the following benefits:

  • Four-year guaranteed seat on the Steering Committee.
  • 32 full-meeting passes for use by anyone in the company per year (value US$19 040 annually).
  • Acknowledgement as Contributing Members on the IIC website, collateral, conference presentations, analysts & media interviews and all other public and internal membership materials.
  • All of the general membership benefits listed above.

Large Industry Members

Large Industry Members are companies who have over US$50 million in annual revenues. Large Industry members pay annual dues of US$50,000 and receive the following benefits:

  • Right to run for one of two Large Industry seats on the Steering Committee (one year terms).
  • 8 full-meeting passes for use by anyone in the company per year (value US$4,760 annually).
  • Acknowledgement as Large Industry Member on the IIC website, collateral, conference presentations, analysts & media interviews and all other public and internal membership materials.
  • All of the general membership benefits listed above.

Small Industry Members

Small Industry Members are companies who have under US$50 million in annual revenues. If the Small Industry Member is a subsidiary of a Large Industry company (revenue over US$50 million), then the company must join at the Large Industry level. If the Small Industry company is a wholly-owned subsidiary of an IIC member, they automatically gain membership in the Consortium at no additional charge. Small Industry members pay annual dues of US$5,000 and receive the following benefits:

  • Right to run for the Small Industry seat on the Steering Committee (one year term).
  • 4 full-meeting passes for use by anyone in the company per year (value US$2,380 annually).
  • Acknowledgement as Small Industry Member on the IIC website, collateral, conference presentations, analysts & media interviews and all other public and internal membership materials.
  • All of the general membership benefits listed above

Academia and Non-profit Members

The Academia and Non-profit members represent universities and companies who are registered as tax exempt organizations. These members pay annual dues of US$2,500 and receive the following benefits:

  • Right to run for the Academia/Nonprofit seat on the Steering Committee (one year term).
  • 4 full-meeting passes for use by anyone in the university or organization per year (value US$2,380 annually).
  • Acknowledgement as Academia or Nonprofit Member on the IIC website, collateral, conference presentations, analysts & media interviews and all other public and internal membership materials.
  • All of the general membership benefits listed above

Government Members

Government members represent town, city, county, state, and federal organizations. These members pay annual dues of US$12,500 and receive the following benefits:

  • 8 full-meeting passes for use by anyone in the university or organization (value US$4,760 annually).
  • Acknowledgement as Government member on the IIC website, collateral, conference presentations, analysts & media interviews and all other public and internal membership materials.
  • All of the general membership benefits listed above
